INSIDE SFMOMA
PRIVATE TOUR & RECEPTION IN THE
DJERASSI GALLERY WITH JANET BISHOP
Step into the heart of San Francisco’s art world with this exclusive, behind-the-scenes experience at SFMOMA for up to twelve (12) guests, personally guided by Janet Bishop, Chief Curator of Painting and Sculpture, and Alex Landry, Curatorial Assistant.
Your two-hour private weekday tour begins with complimentary admission and a special visit to the Djerassi Gallery/Paul Klee Study Center to view the newest exhibition, Paul Klee + Ray Johnson: TYPOFACTURE. You’ll then enjoy rare, behind-the-scenes access to the museum’s vault with curatorial and conservation staff, where additional Klee masterworks will be shared in an intimate setting.
The day concludes with a wine and bites reception in the museum provided by JANE, offering time to converse with Janet Bishop, reflect on Klee’s artistic legacy, and enjoy a uniquely personal moment inside one of the West Coast’s most revered art institutions.
This one-of-a-kind experience—arranged through Janet Bishop and the Djerassi Resident Artists Program—offers unparalleled curatorial access and honors Carl Djerassi’s extraordinary gift of nearly 90 intimate Klee works to the museum.
Date to be scheduled at a mutually convenient time between October 2025 and April 2026 in coordination with SFMOMA and host parties.
